The Pocket Peckham Fringe

This role was an absolute joy to play. Julius Soubise was a well-known anomaly living in 1772 England high society after coming over from the west indies. He was fervent, passionate and extremely obnoxious with a playful side and a big heart on the quiet. I had a great time exploring the layers of him, I found as a youngest sibling I really related to his want to pursue his talents and make his own mark.

I cultivated a backstory for Julius and his life including his numerous affairs with men and women all of which was illegal had he not been connected to status and money. I developed my French accent for this role which was crucial in getting under the skin of Julius and in addition to this I got to work with a fight choreographer and learned some skills in how fighting on stage works effectively and safely.

A really exciting play/musical which combined acting, singing, rapping, dancing, accents, voice and stage combat together and was such a stellar opportunity for me to grow. It truly holds a special place in my heart, and I will never forget it working with such an incredible, hand-picked cast and band who were just as driven and hardworking from start to finish.
