Pygmalion

One of the biggest joys of this project was performing in the round for such an iconic Shaw classic. Using minimal props and set, included my only prop, a period authentic newspaper, which added to the challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed portraying Colonel Pickering, as it required maintaining and holding a scene with little dialogue, simply reacting and listening to the other actors.

This play was a huge ensemble effort, which I loved. Colonel Pickering's arc, from being Henry Higgins' right hand to disagreeing with his methods and treatment of Eliza, culminates in a poignant moment where he tries to reconcile with her. This emotional climax was a highlight for me, and I enjoyed playing it differently each time.
